Extension and remodel, Cambridge
A 1980s surburban home in need of updating and extending.
Nearby university buildings and the particular geometry of the house informed the extension’s form. Due to a south facing aspect, roof overhangs, automatic blinds and solar control glass were employed to mitigate overheating.
Internally the house underwent extensive structural alterations to create more open space and make use of the increased light entering from the new elevation.
